Violet Maimbourg is a sculpture artist from Cleveland, Ohio. Violet graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2021 with a BFA in Sculpture and Expanded Media. Violet’s work has been shown nationally and internationally.

Violet mainly focused on video art and film for over a decade, originally attending Pratt Institute in Brooklyn New York in 2013, majoring in Film/Video. This time inspired Violet to pursue a focus on practical special effects and props.

Her work was recently featured at Paroxysm at Westbeth Gallery in New York City. In addition, Violet recently won the Virginia Krauss Hess Award for Excellence in Sculpture at the Rosewood Art Center in Dayton OH, as well as a 2nd place award in Mystery, Magic, Macabre, a juried exhibition at Deines Cultural Center in Deines, Kansas.

Most recently, in February 2023, Violet was invited to give an artist lecture at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The lecture took place at the Studio for Creative Inquiry as part of The Sylvia and David Steiner Speaker Series Grant. She also led a two-day workshop at Carnegie Mellon on creating encapsulated silicone prosthetics. She is currently applying for an MFA degree in sculpture. She was recently accepted to Pratt Institute's Visual Arts MFA Program.
